Federal judge denies SCE&G’s request for “preliminary injunction” to halt a reduction in customers’ bills for failed nuclear reactor project at VC Summer!
Starting August 7 the nuclear charge will be reduced from
18% to 3.2% of a customer’s bill. The stage is set for customers to halt collection of capital costs – $5 billion wasted by SCE&G on the twi-unit AP1000 nuclear project. Friends of the Earth/Sierra Club will be fighting for ratepayers when the hearing at the South Carolina Public Service Commission begins on November 1, 2018!

Meanwhile, stock in SCANA (parent of SCE&G) is again tanking – search for “SCANA stock” in your favorite search engine.
Mark your calendars for the big hearing to begin on November 1, 2018 at the South Carolina Public Service Commission in Columbia, SC. We predict capital costs – of the $5 billion wasted on the project – will be disallowed by the PSC due to imprudent behavior by SCE&G in pursuing the project and for the company being dishonest with the PSC when the project was falling apart. By state law. the PSC must rule by December 21, 2018.
