Massive construction crane available! Start the bidding! Could be featured in a memorial to the two large, failed nuclear construction projects in the US: Vogtle in Georgia & VC Summer in South Carolina.
As we await the sentencing of admitted felons and former SCANA officials – Kevin March, for CEO & Steve Byrne, former COO – looks like the world’s largest crane – formally called a “heavy lift derrick” – is still in place at the site of the VC Summer units 2 & 3 reactors, a project that was abandoned in July 2017.
We’re not sure who now owns the crane – Westinghouse, Santee Cooper, Dominion? – but toss an offer out and the real owner(s) will step forward, we’re sure! Sorry, but your bid must include removal of the crane from the site, which will be a huge undertaking. Good luck!
