The federal court decision is the final death blow of the MOX debacle but that zombie project has morphed into a contractor money machine (for the $R$ Plutonium Bomb Plant – PBP). DOE at this point aims to spend up to $5 billion on concerting the MOX corpse into the plutonium-pit-money machine by 2020. But NNSA has presented no evidence they can pull this wild plan this off. While we wait for a shred of proof about plans for the PBP, where are investigations into NNSA & contractor fraud, waste, abuse and mismanagement at the $8-billion MOX boondoggle?

The Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication (MOX) plant that was to play a role in the reduction of nuclear weapons is officially dead.
A federal judge signed the final order closing the lawsuit on Feb. 20
The state of South Carolina filed suit in 2018 against the U.S. Department of Energy and other entities in an attempt to force the federal government to resume building a facility to convert plutonium from nuclear weapons into fuel at Savannah River Site.
