Why is SRS refusing to release any evidence about the hyped up “Drone Scare of 2016” or documents on cooperation with Germany on the processing and dumping of highly radioactive German spent fuel at SRS?
Indications are that SRS has no substantive documents to provide on the drone issue & it appears that German support for reprocessing research by Savannah River National Lab ended at least a year ago.
Conclusions so far: 1) There is no proof and apparently not even any credible evidence that there were drones over SRS (as innocuous as that might have been) & 2) proliferation-prone development of techniques for reprocessing of German graphite spent fuel have halted for now (and should be officially terminated). Additionally, it appears that DOE’s Office of Environmental Management & the National Nuclear Security Administration have both failed to meet a major tenet in sound nuclear non-proliferation policy: preparation of a nuclear non-proliferation impact assessment about new reprocessing technologies. If the misguided German spent fuel dumping program remains active, why hasn’t that essential assessment been prepared?
