Spent fuel from the RP-10 research reactor in Peru appears to have been transported on the ship Palermo, which left Peru on May 23 and went around Cape Horn – avoiding the Panama Canal – to arrive in the port of Charleston on June 25, 2017. the spent fuel would now be stored i n the L-Basin at SRS.
Did the Palermo go adrift in the Charleston harbor?
