Category: This is a Category 1 meeting. The public is invited to observe this meeting and will have one or more opportunities to communicate with the NRC after the business portion of the meeting but before the meeting is adjourned.
Purpose: This is a periodic meeting for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to provide information to the public about the status of its Waste Incidental to Reprocessing (WIR) activities. Under the Ronald W. Reagan National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2005 (NDAA) Section 3116(b), the NRC, in coordination with the NDAA-Covered State (i.e., South Carolina for the U,S, Department of Energy (DOE) Savannah River Site (SRS)) monitors the DOE disposal actions and assesses the DOE compliance with the 10 CFR Part 61 Subpart C Performance Objectives. NDAA Section 3116(b) monitoring at SRS only occurs at the Saltstone Disposal Facility (SDF) and the Tank Farms (TFs), which covers both the SRS F-Tank Farm (FTF) and the SRS H-Tank Farm (HTF).
